Welcome to the Game Victoria Program Coordinator

Employer: Welcome to Australia

Type: Full Time Sector: Not-for-Profit & Community Organisations Job Level: Mid Level

Welcome to Australia is seeking a highly qualified and energetic Program Coordinator to run our brand new Welcome to the Game Victoria program.

Welcome to Australia a national non-partisan movement that seeks to provide every day Australians with practical opportunities to welcome people seeking asylum, refugees and other new arrivals to our nation. We also aim to change the public conversation around these issues to one of relentless positivity and believe that the best way of doing this is to facilitate authentic relationships between people of different backgrounds.

In partnership with the Australian Paralympic Committee, Welcome to the Game Victoria will work with young people from refugee, asylum and migrant backgrounds, living with disabilities, to engage in sports and recreational activities.

There are no other programs in Victoria that work specifically with this growing part of our community – this role provides an opportunity to support with some of the most marginalised young people in Victoria.

As the role is brand new, the successful candidate will be required to contribute to program design and implementation – giving you the opportunity to help design your very own program!

The ideal candidate will have experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, people living with disabilities, youth, and a keen interest and understanding of sports and recreation in Victoria.

Benefits of the role:

  • Make a real difference in the lives of your program participants
  • Work for a growing national not-for-profit organisation
  • Small and fun team environment
  • Develop and run your own program
  • Flexible working arrangements
